Jack and Jill Improvement Program
At summer hummer we are offering an improvement program for
newcomer and novice competitors. It starts at 6:30 pm on
Friday with two hours of J&J practice. Instructors will be
available at this time to watch a mock J&J and give personal
feedback as to how one can improve for Saturday’s contest. This
part of the program is spread over a two-hour period so that
dancers can get feedback and then go attend part of a workshop
from our normal workshop schedule.
The next part of this program is a Newcomer seminar with
Robert & Nicola Royston at noon on Saturday. They will
discuss how the J&J’s work, what to expect, and what judges are
looking for. This hour is also a check-in for competition; all
newcomer competitors should be there at noon.
This program continues into Sunday at 11:30 am with a Better
J&J next time class with Gary Jobst
On the workshop schedule there are time slots named practice
session. These are rooms that are set aside for social dancing
and practice. There will be instructors and DJs assigned to these
rooms/times. Dancers are encouraged to ask the instructors any
question that they have about west coast swing!
