NYDE13 will run from Saturday, Dec 29 through Monday, Dec 31, 2012, so be sure and take Monday off from work!
The big New Year’s Eve Dinner and Show are on Monday night. There will be contests and workshops during the day Sat through Mon.
NYDE13 will have three ballrooms open all three nights: West Coast Swing, Country Couples and Hustle. A fourth ballroom offered during the weekend will provide Alternative WCS music. The DJ will play blues and old school tunes, whatever was hot 5 – 10 years ago!
The Party Schedule will be available a.s.a.p.
NYDE13 will offer Pro/Am WCS, Two Step, and Hustle lead/follow divisions and a Pro/Am routine division.
Ask your favorite Pro to dance!
NYDE13 has the most comprehensive J&J feedback program to date! Individuals that do not make finals in Newcomer and Novice WCS J&Js will be placed in a feedback J&J contest. Judges will each be assigned to a certain number of dancers. The judge will record specific feedback for each dancer and meet during a special workshop to discuss how they can improve.
NYDE13 is offering a non-dancer pass for New Year’s Eve so that participants can invite family and friends to join them for dinner and the show. Only $59 each. These passes will NOT be available at the event. All non-dancer passes must be pre-purchased before Dec 29, 2012. Non-dancer passes are not available for the front row. NYDE13 has leveled workshops! Dancers will be eligible based on the J&J level that they have achieved.
There will be an audition for those who want to petition to move to a higher level class.
The workshop schedule will also have open classes for those who do not want to be placed in a level.
NYDE13 Workshop Level Definitions
Beginner Track: For beginner dancers and dancers that want to review Beginner Level basics.
Level 1
Newcomer and Novice WDSC point level competitors. Dancers that wish to audition up to Level 2 must be present in Commonwealth on Saturday at 8:00 pm. Dancers that do not compete for WSDC points must audition for Levels 1, 2 or 3.
Level 2
Intermediate WSDC point level competitors. Dancers that wish to audition up to Level 3 must be present in Commonwealth 1 on Saturday at 8:00 pm.
Level 3
Advanced and All-Star WSDC point level competitors.
